PAT Incal/Xcal Tool - Help ========================== Performance Auto Technologies | 2026 The tool has five modules, selected from the left navigation: Incal Extractor, File Converter, File Fetcher, Repack Incal, and ESDN Date. ACTIVATION & LICENSING ---------------------- - On first launch the program shows your Hardware ID (HWID). Send it to PAT or your reseller to receive a license key, then paste the key and click Activate. - Each license is locked to one PC. The program verifies your license online at every launch and periodically while running, so an internet connection is required. If a required update is available you will be prompted to install it. INCAL EXTRACTOR --------------- Unpack the password-protected incal archives on the ESDN drive. 1. Set the ESDN data root (default: P:\intelect\esdn\data). 2. Select an engine code folder (3-character code such as AAA, AAB, BBZ), or use Browse File to pick an archive directly. 3. Select an incal file in the list. Its Calibration Details (version, module, part number, dates, boot loader, etc.) appear on the right. 4. Choose an output folder and an output format: - Keep original extension (.15, .03, .06, etc.) - Save as .xcal - Save as .cal 5. Click Extract Selected (or double-click a file), or Extract All to unpack the whole engine family. FILE CONVERTER -------------- Convert an extracted .xcal / .cal (Intel-HEX) calibration into a flat .bin for tuning tools such as WinOLS. 1. Browse to the input .xcal / .cal file. Its Calibration Details are shown. 2. Choose an output folder. 3. Fill Gaps: byte used for unmapped regions (default FF). 4. Bin Base: Auto (lowest address) or Start at 0x00000000. 5. Click Convert to BIN. The Conversion Details panel reports the address range, size, record count, and any skipped lines. FILE FETCHER ------------ Search the PAT server and download calibrations - works without a mapped drive. 1. Search by engine code (e.g. BBZ) or ECM code (file name, e.g. CL10009). Leave blank and click Search to list everything (capped). 2. Select a result to view its Calibration Details. 3. Set an output folder. Optionally enable "Extract after download". 4. Download Selected (multi-select supported) or Download All. Files marked [PACKED] are encrypted incal archives; [EXTRACTED] are already unpacked. REPACK INCAL ------------ Pack a modified .xcal back into an incal that INCAL/INSITE accepts. 1. Template Incal: the original incal for the calibration (provides the exact format and inner file name). 2. Modified .xcal: your edited file. 3. Output Incal: where to write the new incal. 4. (Optional) Click Check File to verify the Intel-HEX record checksums of your edited file. Enable "Fix Intel-HEX checksums before packing" to auto-correct any record checksums broken during editing. 5. Click Repack Incal. The archive integrity hash is recomputed automatically. Note: this corrects Intel-HEX line checksums. A modified calibration that an ECM flash validates with a deeper internal checksum may require additional handling. ESDN DATE --------- Edit the INCAL dataset date that INSITE displays. 1. The tool loads esdninfo.dat (default: P:\intelect\esdn\esdninfo.dat). 2. Edit the Display Name (e.g. "April 2026") and/or the Date code. 3. Click Save Date. A backup (esdninfo.dat.bak) is written first.
